- After studying applied arts and graphic arts, Isabelle Boinot began broadcasting her work through many self-publications, which allowed her to obtain the recognition and to be noticed by art directors and gallery owners.
- In 2004, she founded with her friends designers and self-publishers the drawing collective called “Frédéric Magazine”, now presenting the works only on internet and whose main activity is dedicated exclusively to the practice of drawing.
- Her work, full of gentle absurdity and scrupulous attention to detail, is made up of drawings, collages, photographs, embroidery and videos. She exhibits regularly in France and abroad.
- For five years she carried many projects in Japan, through exhibitions, workshops and collaborations. As an author and illustrator, she worked for the press and publishing. She has published comic recipe books as well as notebooks and travel guides.
Isabelle Boinot and Calepino collaborate within the Editions Éphémères for a limited edition of 150 copies called KOMAGOMA, a Japanese onomatopoeia, which could be translated as “Caring for … to the smallest detail.”
